Serbian police say they moved Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to a "safe location" after uncovering a weapons cache near his family house outside Belgrade.

Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said on October 29 that the cache was found in bushes in the neighborhood of Jajinci, near a crossroads where Vucic's motorcade has to slow down when taking him to his parents' home.

The weapons included a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, hand grenades, and sniper rifle ammunition, he said.

Stefanovic declined to say where Vucic was when the weapons were uncovered.

He also said it was not the first time the prime minister was a potential target, without elaborating.

Since becoming prime minister in 2014, Vucic has struggle to tackle some of the demands the European Union has made as a condition for Serbia to join the bloc.
