The gbpic blog shares a vignette of life in the streets of the capital:

I was shaken by this sight [on the street the other day]: A woman was crying while her son watched, and... I think it's a very bitter picture to see: a picture of a poor mother, a picture of the loneliness of a child who must witness his mother weeping in front of a throng of people. Mr. Ahmadinejad, did your pledge of justice get fulfilled in your four-year term? How about the promise of oil revenues? Hopefully the new president will take a look at this picture, and many more that are scattered all over the city of Tehran, the villages, and all the underprivileged areas.
