Iran’s Intelligence Minister Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei has said that the people responsible for importing oranges with Israeli stickers have been detained.
In April, oranges bearing "jaffa sweetie Israel-po" stickers were sold in several Iranian cities, including in Tehran and Karaj.
The Iranian intelligence minister said on May 14 that the oranges had been imported into Iran with the aim of "smearing" the government and "eclipsing antiracism efforts." The minister did not say how many people had been detained.
"We are absolutely certain that the oranges were not imported from Israel and that the stickers were fabricated," Ejei said.
Apparently, despite the stickers, the oranges were actually Chinese fakes.
