The Iranian authorities are still milking the shoe-throwing incident for all it's worth. A shoe-throwing contest is due to be held at a university in Tehran on December 24.
Mohammad Reza Mazinani, the head of the Students' Islamic Society at the technical faculty of Shahed University, told the semi-official Fars news agency that students who throw a shoe "in the strongest manner" at an effigy of Bush will receive a prize.
No details on the prize, nor how the intensity of the shoe throwing will be judged.
Meanwhile, a conservative cleric, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, has said that Muntader al-Zaidi's shoes should be enshrined in Iraq's political museum.
And that's not all. Tehran's shoemakers association has said it is ready to provide shoes for the Iraqi journalist and his family.
