TBILISI -- Georgian Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili has begun her first working visit to the United States since assuming office in November.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry says Beruchashvili will meet with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and other congressional and government members as well as think tank researchers and journalists as part of a group meeting with Central and Eastern European foreign ministers during her weeklong visit.
Beruchashvili will also speak at an Atlantic Council conference, Transatlantic Strategy for Eastern Europe, on January 30 and take part in a debate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington during her trip.
The ministry said U.S.-Georgian relations and Georgia's democratic development are among the issues to be discussed with U.S. officials.
