Iran Arrests Suspected Nuclear Saboteurs

Iran says four people have been arrested on charges of sabotage at the country’s nuclear sites.

The semiofficial Fars news agency quoted Iranian Atomic Energy Organization chief Ali Akbar Salehi as saying on October 6 that "hostile countries” were trying to block agreement on the dispute over Iran’s nuclear program though “acts of sabotage."

He told state television that authorities had foiled "several cases" of similar sabotage attempts in the past "two or three weeks."

Iran has blamed Israel for targeted slayings of nuclear scientists over the past years, and claimed possible U.S. links to past attacks on its nuclear program.

Also on October 6, Israel indicted an Iranian-born Belgian citizen on charges of spying for Iran.

Israel's domestic security service announced Ali Mansouri’s detention last week.
