Deadly Bombing Targets Sunni Mosque In Iraq

A bomb has exploded at a Sunni mosque north of Baghdad, reportedly killing at least 20 people.

The attack happened during Friday Prayers at the Abu Bakr al-Sadiq Mosque in the town of Wajihiyah, some 60 kilometers from the Iraqi capital.

Some reports said a suicide bomber was responsible, but there has been no official confirmation of that.

Local police reported the death toll and said about 40 people were wounded in the bombing.

It was still unclear who was responsible for the attack, but Diyala Province, where Wajihiyah is located, has seen a spike in violence this month.

Attacks linked to sectarian hostilities between Iraq's majority Shi'a and minority Sunnis have killed more than 2,600 people since the start of April.
