Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbaev will be greeted by a guard of honor at Buckingham Palace on November 4 when he will have lunch with Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II.
On November 3, Prime Minister David Cameron said he saw Britain and Kazakhstan as "partners in prosperity and partners in progress" as he oversaw the signing of trade deals worth $4.6 billion.
Cameron pointed to deals involving four new gas plants and a steel production facility in Kazakhstan as key components of trade ties between the two countries.
Campaign groups accused the British government of putting business before human rights.
But Downing Street said the prime minister raised the issue of human rights with Nazarbaev, who was reelected in April with nearly 98 percent of the vote.
From London, Nazarbaev is scheduled to head to France.
