Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka has held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in Moscow.
After the talks on December 15, the two countries signed an agreement on the equal rights of the two countries' citizens to move and reside within the Russian-Belarusian Union State -- a grouping that was established in 1996.
Putin said that the talks "focused on security and stability on the outer boundaries of our organization and common efforts against terrorism."
According to Putin, the agenda also included the situation in Ukraine and Syria, adding that the issues will be discussed at the December 21 summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which is comprised of Russia, Belarus, and four other former-Soviet republics.
The Lukashenka-Putin talks were held a day after Minsk announced that its Foreign Minister Uladzimer Makey had a rare meeting with EU and NATO officials in Brussels.
