Russian officials say that two miners have been killed in an explosion and fire at an iron mine in the Urals Mountains.
One miner remains missing and two have been hospitalized following the January 17 incident.
Officials said 86 miners were able to escape the mine safely and the fire has been extinguished.
Prosecutors said they have opened an investigation into possible safety-regulation violations.
RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
