Rights activist Konstantin Voyevodkin and his wife suffered injuries when their car was fired upon by two gunmen, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.
Yulia Guseinova, a spokeswoman for the Association Of Russian Lawyers For Human Rights, told RFE/RL that Voyevodkin was injured by flying glass when the car's windshield shattered while they were driving in Moscow.
She said Voyevodkin's wife, Tatyana Lukhminskaya, was also wounded. A bullet was extracted from her arm and surgery was performed on her right hand, Guseinova said.
The couple's son was also in the car at the time of the attack, but was reportedly uninjured.
Voyevodkin is one of a group of Moscow activists who are campaigning for cuts in utility tariffs.
