Officials say an officer of the Russian Interior Ministry's K Directorate, which investigates information-technology-related crimes and operates under high secrecy, has been arrested on allegations of corruption.
The authorities announced on April 24 that Major Andrei Yurov was arrested in connection with alleged disclosure of classified information and over an alleged 100,000-euro ($130,000) bribe from a businessman.
Yurov is described as having worked as a special operative of the directorate in the battle against illegal access to digital information.
Russian media have reported that investigators have been carrying out searches in the K Directorate offices as part of the probe.
