In Pakistan, seven militants have been reported killed in two incidents in the southwestern Balochistan Province.
A spokesman for Pakistan's Frontier Corps told RFE/RL that in the first incident, in the gas-producing area of Dera Bugti, security forces killed four militants after their convoy was ambushed.
Local customs official Abdul Rahman Mastooi said two wanted militant commanders, Khaki Ramazani and Laghai Bugti, were among those killed.
In the second incident on March 6, in Uch, security forces killed three militants and wounded another nine in a clash.
Separatist rebels who want a greater share of oil, gas, and mineral deposits, as well as Taliban militants, are active in Balochistan and have been blamed for previous attacks targeting security forces.
