Rescue teams have found two bodies on an ice floe in a river near the wreckage of the MI-8 helicopter that crashed in southeastern Siberia on May 6.
Russia's Ministry for Emergency Situations said the fate of seven other people aboard the aircraft remains unknown.
The helicopter went missing in Russia's Irkutsk Province while taking part in operations to blast ice floes that are blocking river navigation in the region's north.
Hours later, the helicopter’s wreckage was located.
Three crew members, five rescue officials, and the region's acting emergency situations chief, Stanislav Omelyanchik, were aboard the aircraft.
Earlier reports said some fragments of human bodies have been found floating on the river's surface.
The helicopter belonged to an aviation company called Angara. Company officials say the aircraft had almost two tons of explosives aboard.
