Iraq Donors Conference Opens In Qatar

23 May 2004 -- Representatives from donor states and international organizations met today in Qatar at a conference on assistance to Iraq.

Some 200 representatives of 40 countries or international groups are attending the Doha conference, with an agenda covering Iraq's reconstruction.

Iraq's interim planning minister, Mahdi al-Hafiz, is at the gathering, which comes after a similar conference in Abu Dhabi in February and a donors conference in Madrid in October.
