Kwasniewski described the recent beatings in Moscow of two Polish diplomats and a Polish journalist as "organized events." He said the "dangerous incidents" created a "climate of tension" between Moscow and Warsaw.
On 10 August, Poland called on Russia to ensure the safety of its diplomatic staff after two embassy employees were attacked in the street within four days of each other. Yesterday, Pawel Reszka, of the Polish daily "Rzeczpospolita," told Polish public television he was attacked by five men as he walked through a subway near his office.
The incidents follow the mugging of three children of Russian diplomats in Warsaw on 31 July.
Russia expressed outrage over that incident, in which the teenagers were reportedly attacked by 15 youths shouting anti-Russian slogans.
