Man Detained Over Moscow Metro Incident

(RFE/RL) March 20, 2006 --- The head of a Moscow firm that erects billboards has been detained in connection with the collapse of a metro tunnel onto a moving train.

The Moscow prosecutor's office says the head of the Polyus-M company, Radislav Lyba, faces a prison sentence of up to five years.

Spokesman Sergei Marchenko says Lyba has admitted that his company engaged in construction work above the tunnel without written permission.

Part of the tunnel collapsed on March 19, damaging a train but causing no injuries.
