Gaidar Doctors See 'No Natural Cause' For Illness

Yegor Gaidar pictured in 2001 (ITAR-TASS) November 30, 2006 -- Doctors treating Yegor Gaidar, a former Russian acting prime minister, say they see no natural cause for his ailment.

Gaidar remains in a Moscow hospital after falling violently ill during a conference in Dublin on November 24.

Gaidar's spokesman, Valery Natarov, says poisoning remains one of the main possibilities, but that it is too early to say with any certainty.

Gaidar's daughter today said her father was feeling better and could be released from hospital as soon as next week.
