Foreign Minister Cites West's 'Mistakes,' As Turkey Warms To Russia
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that if the West "loses" Turkey, it will be because of its own mistakes, not Ankara's positive relations with Russia, China or the Islamic world. In an interview with the Anadolu news agency on August 10, Cavusoglu said that Turkey's recent rapprochement with Russia was not meant as a message to the West. But he said that the EU was making "serious mistakes" in its response to the failed coup attempt in Turkey last month. (Reuters)
