Car Bombs Kill At Least 28 In Northern Iraq


Car wreckage at site of one of the Mosul attacks on October 19 (epa) October 19 -- Authorities in Iraq say six suicide bombers, including one in a fuel truck, blew themselves up near police stations and U.S. forces in the northern city of Mosul today, killing at least 20 people.

Another car bomb in the northern city of Kirkuk killed at least eight people and wounded many others. That attack was aimed at an Iraqi Army patrol in a crowded market area.

Meanwhile, the U.S. military reports that two more U.S. soldiers were killed across Iraq in combat, bringing the number of U.S. soldiers killed in October to 71.

Earlier, the U.S. military announced that four U.S. soldiers will face courts martial over the rape and murder of an Iraqi girl and the killing of her family in Al-Mahmudiyah, near the capital, Baghdad.
