U.S. Lifts Sanctions On Russian Plane Maker

A Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut (Golden Eagle) jet fighter (ITAR-TASS) November 19, 2006 -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the United States has lifted sanctions imposed on Russian military jet-maker Sukhoi.

Lavrov was speaking on the sidelines of an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Hanoi, after talks between U.S. President George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Washington slapped sanctions on Sukhoi in August for providing Iran with equipment that could be used to develop weapons of mass destruction.
