Iran Frees Former Nuclear Negotiator On Bail


Hossein Musavian (undated file photo) (Fars) May 9, 2007 -- Iran has freed on bail a former nuclear negotiator after holding him on security charges for more than a week.


The Fars news agency reports thatHossein Musavian was freed today after paying $215,000 bail.


Musavian, a former official in the National Security Council, was replaced following the 2005 election of President Mahmud Ahmadinejad.


He is seen as a moderate close to former President Ali Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani.
