Afghan Politician On Hunger Strike

It has been eight days since Afghan lawmaker Semin Barekzai began her hunger strike in Kabul. The mother of three has vowed not to take any food or water unless she is reinstated as a member of parliament. She and eight others were disqualified after the Independent Election Commission ruled that other candidates had actually won their seats.
