ASHGABAT -- Turkmenistan is holding a women's art festival in honor of International Women's Day, RFE/RL's Turkmen Service reports.
Paintings, traditional carpet ornaments, sculptures, jewelry, ceramics, and metal works from more than 70 female artists will be shown at various museums in Ashgabat on March 8.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov last year restored March 8 as the day of observance for International Women's Day, after former President Saparmurat Niyazov had moved the holiday to March 21.
