A soldier and a passerby were killed and at least 15 other people were wounded in a suicide attack in Pakistan's northwest border area, the military and police said on December 15. Regional police chief Farhan Khan told RFE/RL that on December 14 a suicide bomber drove his motorcycle into a military convoy passing the town of Miran Shah in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province near the Afghan border.
