MINSK -- Three Belarusian opposition youth activists have been jailed for several days for throwing eggs at a monument in Minsk to Vladimir Lenin, RFE/RL's Belarus Service reports.
The three men -- Raman Vasilyeu, Mikhail Muski, and Paval Syarhey -- are all members of Belarus's opposition Young Front movement.
They were detained on November 7 after shouting "Communism Must Face Trial!" and pelting the monument with eggs as several dozen communists laid flowers to mark the 94th anniversary of the October Revolution that brought Lenin's Bolsheviks to power.
Vasilyeu was sentenced to 10 days in administrative detention while Muski and Syarhey were each sentenced to seven days
