Aleksandra Shvedchenko, a Russian journalist for the independent Dozhd TV channel who has lived in Tbilisi for the last year, has not been allowed to reenter Georgia after she took a 10-day trip to Latvia. Dozhd TV and its journalist Anna Mongait said on March 14 that Shvedchenko was informed at the Tbilisi airport that she is not allowed to reenter the country for unspecified reasons. Shvedchenko then boarded a plane en route back to Riga. Several Russian journalists and activists have been banned from reentering Georgia in recent months.
