Supply Ship Docks With International Space Station

Russian space agency officials report that a Progress resupply spaceship has successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS).

The docking on July 28 came about six hours after the unmanned craft lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

ISS crewmembers have begun unloading the supplies, which include food, fuel, oxygen, equipment, and parcels for the six people currently aboard the ISS.

The crew includes Russians Pavel Vinogradov, Aleksandr Misurkin, and Fyodor Yurchikhin; Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency; and Americans Chris Cassidy and Karen Nyberg.

Based on reporting by ITAR-TASS and Interfax

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
