Obama Says U.S. Will Continue To Enforce Sanctions On Iran

U.S. President Barack Obama has warned businesses that the United States government will act if they violate sanctions on Iran.

Speaking on February 11 at a press conference with visiting French President Francois Hollande, Obama said that the United States will "come down like a ton of bricks" on any business seeking to negotiate contracts with Iran.

Iran's pledge to world powers last November to curb its nuclear program in return for an easing of sanctions has sparked interestin the Islamic republic among many businesses.

A delegation of French businessmen visited Iran last week.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry issued a similar warning last week after the French delegation's visit to Tehran.
