Polish President To Veto Controversial Judicial Reforms

Polish President Andrzej Duda promised he would veto controversial judiciary reform legislation that has sparked large protests across Poland and drew warnings from the European Union. The legislation enables current Supreme Court judges to be fired, except those approved by the justice minister, effectively putting Poland's judicial system under the ruling party’s political control.
