A Moscow court on November 14 sentenced Viktor Baturin, the brother of the widow of former Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov, to six years in prison on charges of attempted fraud and forgery. The Simonovsky district court ruled that Baturin attempted to illegally take over the property of his sister, Yelena Baturina, one of the richest women in Russia, who built her fortune during the 1990s and 2000s when her late husband dominated Moscow politics.
