Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) said on June 19 that it has identified five Russian military officers suspected of being involved in the execution of four Ukrainian soldiers who were surrendering in May in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhya region. According to the HUR, Colonel Yury Abayev, Captain Dmitry Nagorny, and Lieutenants Temirlan Abutalimov, Zaur Bekov, and Yusup Imagazaliyev are suspected of fatally shooting the Ukrainian soldiers. Ukrainian Prosecutor-General Andriy Kostin said earlier that Russian armed forces have executed at least 61 captured Ukrainian soldiers since Moscow launched its ongoing invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
