Tajik authorities say a 52-year-old woman has been arrested in the northern district of Bobojon Ghafurov on allegations that she deliberately infected nine men with HIV by having sex with them. If convicted of knowingly infecting others with HIV, the woman, whose identity was not disclosed, may face up to 10 years in prison. This is not the first such case in the Central Asian nation. The latest similar case was reported in March, when a 46-year-old woman with HIV was arrested on suspicion of infecting 11 men in the northern city of Konibodom.
