Britain's government says no ministers will attend the group stage matches of the Euro 2012 soccer tournament amid concerns about the case of jailed former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
The case has become a political flashpoint as Ukraine prepares to co-host the European Championship with Poland, starting on June 10.
Tymoshenko has been sentenced to seven years in prison for abuse of office.
Many Western countries have condemned the verdict as politically motivated and urged Ukraine to free her.
In a statement on June 7, the British Foreign Office said that no senior-level officials will be attending the group games.
All England's group matches are in Ukraine.
The statement said officials will keep their attendance at later stages under review after "widespread concerns about selective justice and the rule of law in Ukraine."
