The Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) says a Russian correctional colony employee in Moscow-occupied Berdyansk who had been implicated in the alleged torture of Ukrainians has been "eliminated." Without taking direct responsibility, the HUR said a car belonging to Yevgeny Ananyevsky exploded on the morning of May 5. “As a result of the explosion, Yevgeny Ananyevsky, who was involved in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners, was eliminated,” the HUR said in a statement. Russia's Investigative Committee confirmed the death of a correctional colony employee in a car explosion in Berdyansk in the Zaporizhzhya region, without naming him.
