Journalists at Ukraine's TVi, a commercial television channel known for its investigative journalism, are on strike as the company undergoes an ownership dispute and top management reshuffle.

On April 24, the station was broadcasting only prerecorded programming.

In a video posted on YouTube, TVi journalist Roman Nedzelskyi said the editorial staff is demanding the opportunity to broadcast its views on air regarding the station's situation.

Oleksandr Altman, a former adviser to Energy Minister Eduard Stavytsky, was officially registered on April 24 as the channel's owner.

But Konstiantyn Kagalovskyi, TVi's previously registered owner, says documents showing that he sold the station were forged.

The station has come under pressure in the past.

In September, it was ordered to pay $375,000 in back taxes in a case TVi argued was politically motivated.

Based on reporting by Interfax and "Ukrainian Journal"

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
