Uzbekistan Mulls Offering Citizenship For Investments Into Its Economy

Uzbekistan has put up a bill for public discussion that would allow foreigners to obtain Uzbek citizenship if they invest at least $1 million into the country's economy. In late October, neighboring Kazakhstan made a similar move, saying it was ready to provide permanent residence permits to foreigners who invest at least $300,000 in the Kazakh economy. The initiatives by the two leading economies in Central Asia come amid an influx of Russian citizens evading a military mobilization by Moscow to support its war against Ukraine.
