Activists have posted a video of jailed prominent human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh meeting her two young children while they were visiting her at Tehran’s Evin prison.
It is hoped the film will draw attention to her situation.
In the short video, Sotoudeh who has been in jail since 2010, is looking cheerful while talking to her son who is about 5 years old. Her daughter is seen crying while standing by the visiting booth.

Sotoudeh, who has defended many political prisoners and human rights activists, as well as juvenile offenders on death row, is serving a six-year prison sentence after being convicted of charges that include acting against Iran’s national security.
She has been also banned from practicing law for 10 years.

Sotoudeh is considered to be one of the victims of Iran’s crackdown on lawyers acting in sensitive political cases.
Her case has led to widespread condemnation.
The 47-year-old lawyer has gone on hunger strike in prison on a number of occasions to protest against the conditions in which she is being held.
Prior to her incarceration, Sotoudeh had told RFE/RL that the charges against her were ridiculous.
