Two Iraqi Turkoman Officials Killed In Kirkuk

14 May 2004 -- A senior member of a Turkoman party was killed along with one of his deputies in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk today in circumstances that remain unclear.
Mustapha Kamal Yaycili, the Iraqi Turkoman Front's representative in Kirkuk, and his driver were killed this morning though reports were unclear as to whether he died in an attack or a traffic accident.

The head of Kirkuk's paramilitary force, General Anwar Hamad Amin, said the car Yaycili was in was involved in a traffic accident with a U.S. military vehicle.

Turkey's state-run Anatolian news agency said there was a report U.S. troops fired on Yaycili's vehicle.

Another passenger in the car with Yaycili was injured.
