21 September 2005 -- Two miners were killed in an explosion at a Siberian coal mine.
Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry says the blast occurred in a storeroom of the Severnaya mine in the republic of Khakasia.
Thirty-nine miners were evacuated safely from the shaft.
The ministry says a preliminary investigation indicates workers were unloading explosives when the accident happened.
