Bosnian Serb Arrested For War Crimes In Croatia

20 November 2005 -- Bosnian Serb police detained Andjelko Teodorovic, who is suspected of war crimes in neighboring Croatia, early today in the western Bosnian Serb town of Gradiska.

Bosnian Serb police said Teodorovic was arrested on the basis of a Croatian police and Interpol warrant.

No further details about Teodorovic's case were revealed.

Teodorovic was transferred to the state court of Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo, which is expected to decide about his extradition to Croatia.

The international community has applied diplomatic pressure to authorities in the Serb-dominated Republika Srpska and elsewhere to capture and hand over fugitive war crimes indictees, including former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic.
