19 December 2005 -- Spanish police today arrested 14 people on suspicion of recruiting and indoctrinating fighters for Iraq's insurgency.
The suspects were detained in early morning raids in several cities in the regions of Catalonia and Andalusia, as well as in Spain's Balearic Islands.
Police did not immediately give the nationality of the suspects. They were searching the premises at which the suspects were detained.
