April 13, 2006 -- The Iraqi Interior Ministry says 13 people were killed and eight wounded in a car bomb attack in Shi'ite-dominated neighborhood of Baghdad.
The car blew up near a market on the outskirts of Al-Kadhimiyah, a western district of the city.
Also in Baghdad, gunmen killed Mahmud Ahmed, the brother of a top Sunni Arab politician, Tariq al-Hashemi.
Al-Hashemi, a member of the Iraqi Islamic Party, has been talked of as a possible speaker of the incoming parliament.
