Ethnically Motivated Crime Falling In Kosovo

Soren Jessen-Petersen (file photo) (epa) May 24, 2006 -- The United Nations Mission in Kosovo says ethnically motivated crime has dropped in the UN-administered province.

The UN mission said there had been 72 such incidents in the first quarter of 2005 and just 19 in the first quarter of 2006.


The UN's top official in Kosovo, Soren Jessen-Petersen, warned against what he called "misleading statements" concerning the level of ethnically motivated violence.
