June 13, 2006 -- The UN administrator for Kosovo says a successor will be appointed as talks on the future status of the Serbian province continue over the coming months.
Soren Jessen-Petersen was speaking at NATO headquarters in Brussels a day after he announced that he would be resigning at the end of the month for personal reasons.
NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said the alliance's 17,000-strong KFOR peacekeeping force would remain in place over the negotiating period.
