Russian Finance Minister Expects Economic Slowdown

Russian Finance Minister Kudrin (file photo) (ITAR-TASS) June 14, 2006 -- Russian Finance Minister Aleksei Kudrin expects the Russia's economy to grow at a slower pace, despite continued high prices for raw materials on world markets.

Kudrin told an international economic forum in St. Petersburg that the inflow of petrodollars is hindering reforms and companies' willingness to diversify, and warned that increases in public spending could destabilize the economy.
