No Date Set For Japanese Pullout From Iraq

Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi (file photo) (AFP) June 19, 2006 -- Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi says Japan has not yet decided exactly when to withdraw its 600 troops from southern Iraq.

Koizumi said the timing would be decided in consultation with its allies and added that Tokyo will continue to provide support for Iraq after its troops leave the country.

Japan's Foreign Ministry says it plans to extend low-interest loans to build bridges and roads in southern Iraq.
