Romanian Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

Romanian members of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (file photo) (epa) June 20, 2006 -- A Romanian soldier in the U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan was killed today in a blast in the southern city of Kandahar.

Four other Romanian soldiers were wounded in the explosion, near the city's airfield.


A Canadian military spokeswoman who reported the casualties said it is not yet clear if the explosion was caused by a roadside bomb or a mine.
