Eight U.S. Soldiers Charged With Murdering Iraqi

U.S. Marines in Iraq (file photo) (AFP) June 22, 2006 -- Seven U.S. Marines and a Navy corpsman have been charged with the premeditated murder of an Iraqi civilian.

The accused could face the death penalty if convicted by a U.S. military court in California.


This case is unconnected with the alleged killing by other Marines of 24 Iraqi civilians in the western Iraqi city of Al-Hadithah last November.
