July 10, 2006 -- Six Bosnian Serb convicted war criminals are on a hunger strike to protest a UN court ruling against a Bosnian Muslim that they deem to be too mild.
A spokesman for the Bosnian government, Zlatko Juric, said on July 10 that the six started their hunger strike on June 30 after the UN war crimes court jailed Naser Oric for two years.
Oric was found guilty of failing to prevent his subordinates from mistreating and killing Bosnian Serb prisoners in 1992 and 1993.
